NFC and QR

State of Stick primarily uses NFC for natural tap-based interactions. A person brings a compatible phone near the connected element and the device opens the approved experience.

QR codes are another widely supported way to open digital content and may be appropriate as a visible fallback, accessibility option, or program-specific entry point. The choice depends on the object, environment, audience, design, and required trust level.

Interaction method is not the trust model

NFC and QR describe how a person begins an interaction. They do not, by themselves, establish authenticity, identity, privacy, or authorization.

  • An ordinary NFC or QR interaction can open a managed destination.
  • Stronger verification requires a supported verified design and server-side validation.
  • Private or restricted actions require their own access rules.

State of Stick does not describe QR as inherently insecure or ordinary NFC as authenticated. Trust claims are based on the complete approved workflow.
