From Idea to Launch
Every program combines physical and digital work. Treating them as one lifecycle prevents a polished object from launching with unfinished content—or a good campaign from arriving after production.
1. Define
Section titled “1. Define”- Audience and business outcome
- Physical format and environment
- Experience and call to action
- Trust, privacy, accessibility, and retention needs
- Owner, approvers, schedule, and success criteria
2. Design
Section titled “2. Design”- Physical concept and placement
- Experience structure and content
- Brand and trademark authorization
- Measurement plan
- Production and quality requirements
3. Approve
Section titled “3. Approve”State of Stick does not infer permission from receiving a logo or idea. The responsible brand representative approves the permitted use, final design, production scope, and public release where applicable.
4. Produce and configure
Section titled “4. Produce and configure”Physical production and connected-object configuration move together under controlled records. Customer-facing documentation describes the result and acceptance criteria; proprietary methods remain internal.
5. Test
Section titled “5. Test”- Physical fit, finish, placement, and durability
- Tap and fallback behavior on representative devices
- Destination, forms, media, and accessibility
- Trust and claim states where included
- Analytics policy and reporting attribution
- Expired, invalid, or unauthorized paths
6. Launch and observe
Section titled “6. Launch and observe”Confirm the live destination, fulfillment state, event collection, customer handoff, and escalation contact. Reports should distinguish intentional interaction from internal testing and suspected automated traffic.
7. Improve or retire
Section titled “7. Improve or retire”Destinations may change without replacing the physical object. Retire campaigns deliberately, preserve required business records, and remove expired analytics according to the governing policy.
